Parking Aids
I was wondering how many owners use some kind of Tool to help them park their Vett in the garage. I own a new house and the two car garage seams like a 1 1/2 car garage sometimes. A tight fit for two cars so I use an aid to park them. Right now I'm using one of them little ***** that raise and lower with the garage door and you pull in until it touches the windshield. I've looked at others, electronic, floor mounted pads etc. but chose this setup for now. How about you?
I use these yellow plastic ramp-like things. You drive over the small bump in front and stop a few inches later after touching the big bump in the back. I'm really unhappy with them (one unit for each of my two cars) because they tend to skid around the floor. They're also a bit too narrow, and you can miss them off to the side. Basically, I'm always having to watch what I'm doing anyway, and get no value.
Now that you've forced me to focus on them, I think I'll go down to the garage and throw them out!

None - only car in a 2-car garage - if I hit the wall, I've gone too far.
Seriously, I placed an 'X' on a wall stud on passenger's side - when it's visible as I look to my right, I am good to go.

I use the Auto Park laser mounted on top of my garage door opener - works great!

My garage is rather long, and I just pull right in. Then I back up a couple of feet and then shut off the car. I do this backup thing as a positive way to be sure the car is in reverse, as I have had DBS twice.

I use those Park Zone gizmo's that sense how close you are to the garage wall and it turns from green to yellow to red. I've got one on each side of the garage and it is quite foolproof. Won't help side to side though--Ed
In my 2 Vette garage, I use traffic cones with a broomstick handle sticking out of the middle.
When I hit the cone & see the stick move, I know to stop.
Home made fix, but it works, never a mark on the car.
