Going to dealer on Thursday morning to have them use the CD which fixes the FM static problem on the nav radio. Are there any downsides to doing this fix? I don't want to have the whole unit fried because someone doesn't follow instructions.

 

I had mine done in December with no problems. As a bonus, you'll also gain MP3 playback capability. Go for it.

 

Don't let them leave it in accessory mode. Bad news if the RAP shuts it down in the middle of the process.

 

Tell them to start your car and leave it running while they do it

 

Had mine done without incident and it only took a short while.

Don't be afraid to mention that to them that they need to keep it running. You would be surprised at how much the Chevy mechanics do not know about these cars.

 

Did mine myself and it worked fine - took less time than the instructions.

 

and this FIX still WON'T work for A NON-NAV radio w/static??

 

Did mine my self dealer took to long to get update disc.Now waiting three weeks for kit to repair roof. maybe this is the reason GM is in trouble.I get better service from lincoln/Mercury service on my LSC Mark
