I have had my 2006 C6 for about two weeks now and just found two "funny looking defects" on the paint
They look like a tiny strip, about 1/4 inch long and 1/16 inch wide, of thin tape matching exactly the paint color. I was tempted to peel it off, but better judgement took control
Anyone seen this on a new Vette or have advice what to do with it?
It's tough to tell from your description...but it might be some of the plastic protectant that covers the car for the trip to the dealer from the factory. I found several small pieces, usually on the edges of body panels, on my vette the first time I waxed it. They looked body colored because they were clear and they came right off. I don't have any pictures of them though. Just a guess.
I had the same thing, it was caused by the shipping plastic.
The adhesive from the tape bonded to my paint. The dealer had their prep guy buff it out. cant even tell now.

I had the same problem when i got my car. Took it to the dealer and had them take care of it.
UPDATE The two "blimishes" were indeed small pieces of the plastic shipping protection that GM puts on a Vette ..When polishing I notice a small end was sticking up on one of these spots, so I slowly pulled it off and it was a clear plastic flim... Boy was I happy
