I believe that there are good vette techs out there, but you just got to ask the right questions and talk to the right people, and let them know up front that sloppy work and inattention to detail is unacceptable.
BUT... if any member has a favorite service dealer or tech in the HR area, let me know....
Call Tim Stinnet @ RK. He is one of the service team managers and has been there for quite a while.
We have had two Chevys that have been my wife's, including the Tahoe she presently drives, serviced through Tim and have been very happy. FWIW, we did not buy either vehicle @ RK.
I will use RK for service on the Z as long as Tim is there. He has gone out of his way to make sure only certain people touch my car.
When I needed the first oil change in the Z, he pulled it into the service bay himself, had his best tech take care of the work, drove it back out himself. They also let be hang out while it was on the lift so I could get my first up close look at everything from below. Awesome.
Of course, I have known Tim for awhile, so YMMV.
He is very down to earth though, and as long as someone doesn't rub him the wrong way or come off as snobbish, I feel he'd do the same for them.
If your into MCs/Harleys at all, you have a good in with Tim. We both ride and talk motorcycles quite a bit.
Tell him Ronnie (Silver '06 Z) sent you.
