Harvey from what you have said in the past you cannot drive very fast on the Island. The wind should not be too bad without one.

I spoke with this hottie engineer chickie from GM at Carlisle. She was in the same tent with the new Z06's and the cutaway Z06. She and Dave Hill were doing a walk around and I asked her about this wind deflector. I have an 05 vert and the mounting is completely different for an 06 vert. It appears that this was an engineering afterthought and the 06's have provisions for attaching the hardware for the deflector. The 05's seemed to need much more than what was offered. If you decide to buy one, make sure to mention that you have an 05, that is, if you do.

Most members think they work very well; a few don't think they make much of a difference. Almost all say it's a pain in *** to have to take it totally off before you can put the top back up. Think I will wait until they figure out how to make one that can collaspe or something so you can put the top up without having to take the whole darn thing off and store it in the trunk.

So you have to take it off before you put the top back up?

I have the wind deflector, and I think it works really well on the freeway. The wife doesn't like the turbulence so when I have the top down on the freeway she makes me roll up the windows as well. I only feel the wind blowing over the top of my head, no buffeting from the rear! It does have to be taken off every time, but it seriously takes no more than 20 seconds, it just pushes into place, and pulls out of place. I only use it when going on long trips. It's nice to have...especially when the dealer throws it in as part of the purchase deal!!
