I headed out to the Tire Kingdom today. When I went up to the counter I was a greeted with a, "What's up man?" I said, "nothing much bud." I calmly persisted in telling him that I was here recently and that I was washing my car that same night and noticed some scratches. He calmly said, "Lets go check it out." I went outside and he looked at them and said, "Yeah, who did it the young guy?" I said, "yeah a young guy but not sure which one." He said the same person had done this with wheels a previous day. He said if I wanted he could send them out for repair but it'd take 5 days. He said, "but you probably want to drive around with your new rims." He then he persisted in saying, "You have our number? Call back tomorrow and ask for Shawn and i'll see what we can figure out." I said thanks and that I appreciated it. I shook his hand and left. All in all this guy was very nice and fair. In the end i'm glad I ended up at this store despite my mistake in not doing enough research.

You guys won't believe this crap. Shawn recommended I try some mothers polish and see if the scratches come out, that way I can enjoy my new rims. Well, he tells me if the polish doesn't work we'll have to send them out for repair and he'll refund my polish cost. Sure enough I return because the polish didn't work, I enter and the original guy that assured me everything would be right is there. I said can I speak to shawn please? He goes "Why, shawn is in the back what do you need?" I state, I had an issue with my scratch rims that shawn was helping me out with. He goes, "Oh yeah, we have a rim repair service, you want to repair some rims right?" I say, "you must be mistaken, i'm getting rims repaired that you guys scratched." The guy states, "Oh no, you drove off we didn't scratch any rims this guy over here checked them before you left they were fine." I said, "excuse me, I already spoke to Shawn and he agreed that these rims were scratched here and that it would be taken care of." "Oh Shawn doesn't know what he's talking about, he never said that." "Actually shawn told me precisely that this was scratched during alignment, and that hte person that did my rims had done this same thing a few days ago to another rim." Then I said, "And let me inform you that aside from the scratches, you also put the sensors on incorrectly, the pressures are reading out for the wrong tires." The manager says, "we just place the sensors as is." I state, "well you did them incorrectly." He procedes to be a conniving bastard and make up fairly tails so I blankly state this. "Listen you punk, I don't play games with anyone, not you not god i'm not a person you can bull**** and expect to get away with." I know this is pompous but I was dead pissed and very serious! I'm not about let someone step all over me, I went outside because the manager wouldn't let me speak to shawn and went into the parking lot. The manager comes out while i'm speaking on the phone and precedes to hang around me, when I get off he says. "What had happened was Shawn forgot to tell you that inorder to repair the rims you'd have to pay us $200, Shawn says he never said any of that stuff." Let me inform you guys, that I had two friends with me on this very occasion that I was speaking to shawn. The other friend has an issue regarding his tires placed incorrectly. I never got a chance to speak to Shawn, nor did I even see Shawn anywhere around the facility. This man was a complete liar that was speaking for another person without ever being around during these situations. I felt completely disrespected and taken for an idiot and I reacted with these same feelings. I went outside to vent and avoid getting out of hand but when this guy got onto me with his $200 garbage I simply stated, "Now you're in trouble, you've made a huge mistake with this conniving bigotry, a huge mistake without realizing the relentless bastard you're attempting to handle." I know I have a temper, it's huge, but when I say i'm going to do something. Whether attemping a difficult project with my car, or simply making someone feel the due consequences it gets done and it WILL get done. I called the main tire kingdom company already, and i'm soon to cancel my credit card payment aswell as file some sort of report. What do you guys think I should do? No matter what i'm going to do what I can.

Not a good situation. If you stop payment they will most likely turn things in as uncollected.

This is a hard call, not sure what I would do actually. You may end up with a small claims claim being your best option.

And if they turn things in uncollected? The service is clearly incomplete thus the payment shouldn't be paid yet I figure?

I agree with you Tav. But I think the tire company may report it as un collectable debt to a collection service who in turn when you tell them to kiss your a$$ will then send it to a credit reporting bureau, I had a similar thing happen to me, not with tires or wheels but a similar situation. If you had a victory in a small claims court this could not happen to you.

I am still trying to get it removed from my credit record. And the original company settled with me long ago. But the collection service will not settle. That is not their business. Their business is to collect or attempt to ruin your credit. It is a legal extortion service if you will.

I would do the same thing again though. Right is right. I think ethically you are in the right to cancel the payment.

That is why I said it is a bad situation.

man that sucks BIG time. i take it by the pru bar install method it was a old school machine. these are not to be used with runflat tires. i would cancel the payment for starters then get some pics of there machine documentation on the proper machines for this type of work...to bad you drove off but the damage is VERY consistant with the machine we used in my high school auto shop in 94....things have changed they have new machines for run flat, large diameter/width tires

this is the way the machine should look to do any work on our cars if not no go!!!
or this if it used right int that they mount the tire with the rim upside down and it is powerful enough to mount run flats!!

can not find pics of the old school machine we used in highschool my guess it is what they used on ur rims!

All Goodyear stores don't have equipment capable of run flats, let alone a machine that can handle more then a 17" rim diameter.

I had my Z06 replicas installed by MacMulkin Chevrolet (forum dealer) during the pre delivery prep. Perfect install down to where the center logos point to the valve stems
if you don't start with the proper maching on runflats you're done! It's also critical you're not the first wide rim/runflat they're mounting....

You can dispute anything that's put on your credit report. Cancel the credit card payment immediately. Put the entire scenario in writing while it is fresh in your mind. Take good photos, and file with the small claims court. If they don't show up for the court date, and they sound like the kind of slimeballs who won't, you automatically win the judgement. This will prove that anything they put on your credit report is false. The credit agencies will have to remove the item....if they even report you at all.

I filed a complaint with the better business bureau, anything else I can do. I'm raising a storm over this manager's head, he's going to really regret it. I may try and contact the actual store owner too.
