Forget the stock system, it is a disgrace.

If you LIKE the stock system, then you are the type person who will LOVE the Magnaflow #15884 system.
It sounds exactly like the car should have come from the factory.
Moderate volume increase with a Smooth V8 hum and no drone.
It will make you proud to take someone for a ride, not embarass you as the Bullets do.
It fires up with a mellow roar, idles with a mellow rumble, but is comfortable to drive and talk to your passenger.

With the Bullets I was constantly making excuses to my passengers about how it sounds great with the top down, or just crack a window in 10 degree temps to lessen the drone, or watch if I shift from "D" to "3" how the drone reduces and vice-verse, etc......

With the Magnaflows, my only complaint is that with the top down I am wishing for just a little more volume.

OK, ya got me. Actually my only experience with the GTO is the '04, and of course, the aforementioned F-Bodies were single exhaust... albeit 3" - 4". I"ll have to track down an '05 GTO and give it a listen.

What kind of excuses to I make for driving an automatic?

NONE!

I have a NASTY BADAZZ 500rwhp 03 Cobra with a manual that I babied down the track to a grannyshifted 11.84@120.57 on a soft 1.85 60' 2000 rpm launch

My C6 is a cruiser, a car that I just like to relax and drive. Not to mention, I will bet you out of 10 runs, my automatic C6 will beat a similar manual C6 7 out of 10 times.

TRUE! But, why buy ANY after-market muffler unless it has some MEAT to it? Magnaflows have just the right amount of meat! (You only need to buy the two 14335 mufflers. A BIG savings over Corsa, Borla, etc. FULL systems.)

Is this the whole system or just mufflers? How much was the changeover and you're sure no drone.

ALFONSE -

It is the whole system, Magnaflow #15884.

It is a x-pipe after the cats leading in to a catback.

NO DRONE!

Ask BigJag or ZeusC6, both have heard my car and loved it.

I do miss all the from other motorists who heard the Bullets though. But, I don't miss the drone.

Drone, smone!

Someone's kid described Magnaflows best when he said, "they have a nice hum!"

ALFONSE -

$150 for Meineke to put them on

Big Jimm -

That was my 11 year old son.

He is used to the THROATY GURGLE of my SLP Loudmouths on my 03 Cobra.

He has heard more aftermarket exhaust on more cars than most adults.
I have owned many cars in his lifetime. Flowmasters, Dynomax, Magnapacks, MAC, B&B, Magnaflows, SLP, LT heades, shorty headers, catless midpipes, etc.....

The Magnaflows do not DRONE at all, but they don't really have a MEAN SOUND, it is just a smooth, stock sounding V8 hum, just louder than stock.
It is most likely the sound MOST C6 owners are looking for.
Louder than stock, not obnoxious, with no drone.

With the top down in this nice weather, I find myself missing the Bullets, the Manaflows are just not putting out enough VOLUME for ME, BUT....

Once the weather turns too HOT, TOO COLD, or RAINY (35-50% of the year around here), the Magnaflows are the only way to fly.
If the top could stay down permanently, Bullets hands down.

Al, Totally agree with yell03. I just put on the same system with tru-xpipe, there is absolutly no drone at all. It really is what stock should sound like.
The tips are beautiful, double wall and polished like chrome. The mufflers tuck up, you can't see them at all.

I cant for the life of me understand how or why anybody would even consider an aftermarket exhaust (at least one really worth buying like the bullets) and not expect for the cabin to be louder as well...Then have the nerve to complain about it. I mean really it sounds like a bunch of old foggies talking about them damn teenagers and their music. Its a CORVETTE...Hello!!!! Americas answer to the world in performance. If you want an exhaust man make it sound like the BEAST it really is. "Its too loud, it has too much drone, it hurts my ears yada yada yada" Thats all I hear on these threads. Its like saying "I want a Corvette but I dont want it to be too fast...Is there anyway to cut the horsepower down to 200 so I wont get a ticket?" I mean this of course is my personal opinion and Im new to the forum but I really thought the conversations would be a lot more of the how can I make my beast sound like a beast...I wanted my car to sound as nasty as it could and get as many envy onlookers as I can to say "Damn...did you hear that?" I know Ive been that onlooker at one time in my life. Theres no better sound in the world than that loud, nasty, gurggling, spitting, chopping, DRONING, ear popping, attention getting exhaust of a C6 Corvette!!! (With Bullets)
If you cant stand the heat stay outta the kitchen my friends. God Bless America!

Loud is one thing. Interior resonance is quite another. My old 69 was great sounding, aggressive but had NO drone. It's just like the bass that you feel rather that hear. That's what bothered me. I WANTED the agressive sound but without the drone. Now I've got the sound I like. I like Big blocks with side pipes but I wouldn't want to go cross country in one.
