Default Problem "Traction Control"

I was driving tonight on the 405 doing about 20 and the car out of no where started buck almost. I was trying to accelerate but the car would give power then take it away as if the traction control was angaging. The thing is, i was going way to slow and hitting the gas way to lightly for this.

Then I look and the D.I.C. & it says service traction control. I turned off the traction control and was able to get full power back but the steering was really stiff while driving, but then Come to a stop it felt normal again. Really weird.

After i got to a place where i could shut down, i did. When i restarted it was fine. I has been fine since for 2 trips and about 30 miles.

05 Z51 MN6 with 13k miles. Very early vin. It has been trouble free since i got it Sept 4 2004.

Should i take it in or see if it comes back? I am curious has anyone else had this problem? I am concerned that if dealer can not reproduce the problem that i will be just waisting my time that i have very little of these days.

Thanx
Joe

u should be ok now...u could still take it into the dealer if you want to be sure....but like you said, the down side is you could be wasting your time.

Sounds like the crank bolt issue to me. If it is, you need to get to dealer immediately, the less driving with that condition the better.

I would take it in to the shop and run diagnostics on it as soon as possible. It's an early warning sign telling you "more bad things are on the way" if you do not listen. I had a similar problem a year ago and turned out to be the main computer. It started like you stated and progressively got worse to the point where it would shut down everything and leave me stranded on the side of the road. Finally had to flatbed and send her to the hospital. 8000 miles later and no problems.

Good luck

Better take it in. I had the same problem with my 05. I bought it around september to. The dealer said they fixed it, all they did was change a senor.. But now the traction control doesnt work right.. If you wanna see if its fixed break the tires loose and if it doesnt come on then you might be ok, but i would take it in to the dealer with the light on when it happens next, just so they dont think your crazy. I hope your dealer finds the correct problem. Let me know.

My guess is if it isn't doing it when you take it in, they'll just send you away telling you nothing is wrong with it. Probably can't hurt (except time) to have them look though.
