Sometimes when I first get in, start up and put it in drive, the seat doesn't go to my preset. Then maybe the next time it will.
I can always stop, put it in park and hit "1" (preset for me) and it automatically goes where it should. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try putting your Emergency Brake "on", Jim.
On the MN6 "auto-seat" will not go to either position if the EB's not first set.
In fact when I leave the car to run into a store for a few minutes and don't want to fool around hitting the #1 button?
I deliberately leave the car in gear and EB off so the settings stay put.
Knew he had an A6, Gene.
Just thought like the MN6 it's a "safety feature" the EB be set before the seat's auto-position will activate.
I had an A4 in my 2003 AE and the EB position didn't matter.
However if the car was in anything but "Park" (or under a certain speed?) the auto-seat recall function would not work.
If you don't push the memory button, it has to sense the fob. Are you always using the same fob? I made sure I programmed both fobs the same, since my wife does not drive my C6.
