Well... I think it has finally gone through. I have never found buying a car as difficult and time consuming as buying a new vette. We have been trying to buy a C6 DSOM vert for a few months now. My husband has worked so hard (day and night) trying to get it ordered. Several dealers have dropped us (I don't know why, I have a check in my hand). They never saw us in person (so it can't be our looks) and we didn't talk to them much ('cause they didn't call us back). I have to say Tommy Jr. (MacMulkin Chevrolet/Thompson Automotive Group) came through for us and it has been great working with him. He seems to understand our excitement. We now have an "Order No.". I wanted a DSOM vert because I had a copper colored '68 when I was 21. Kind of reminiscent. As some of you know, April 1 deadline for ordering this color. Several weeks ago Tommy Jr. sent our order in and was told there would only be 25 more allowed and our order was not one of them. Oh well, we will try another color, but Tommy called back a week later and told us someone had dropped out and our order went through (thanks to that someone). I guess it was meant to be. I was certanly questioning whether we were to get a new vette. Now, as most of you know, the waiting begins. Based on what I see on the forum, we are taking museum delivery. Just waiting for the next step. Our PTW is 17 April. I can't wait to use some of those airline miles I have to get down there. The weather is made for verts and I don't want to miss it. I carry someone elses DSOM vert picture around, can't wait to have my own (not to mention getting behind the wheel). Can't wait for that trip to Bowling Green. TOMMY JR., YOU'RE THE BEST
I have purchased three new vehicles from Tom Jr in the last year, and I cant say enough good....
Had a minor problem , called him direct , done....
Good company , great service...

I had a similar problem. My first order was placed in January with a potential allocation in August. Just couldn't wait so I asked for my deposit back. Placed my second order with a dealer who said he had an allocation for May but a week after I placed the order he said that the allocation "fell through." I'm not sure he had a May allocation in the first place but he returned my deposit immediately. (maybe they needed a short term loan). Finally, I talked with Tom at Bud's Chevrolet in St. Mary, Ohio who said he had weekly allocations and ordered the one I wanted on Mar 21 (MR, Black, Ebony, Vert, M6,). By Mar. 24 it was already at event code 3000. I think my TPW is 4-17, too but I have to verify with Tom when he gets back from vacation. When I first decided to get a Vette, I was expecting that it might be August - September before I could get one. Now, May seems like a good possibility. Hoo-rah!
Good luck and congrats in advance. I know you will love driving the car. Picked up my '06 DSOM convertible with a black top and interior on 3/22/06. Love the car. Remember the wave.

I just set up my travel for a 3 May Museum delivery. I was able to get tickets so cheap on Southwest ($115 Sacramento to Nashville) that it wasn't worthwile burning my airline miles. I think most of them are only good for round trips anyway.
If you want a rental car, call Enterprise at the Nashville Airport and ask for the "Corvette Musuem Discount Rate". It lets you drop your car off at the Museum. 615-275-0011 the punch 4 for a real person when the recording starts.
Don't wait any longer than you have to to set up museum delivery, the delivery slots are filling up fast. I was able to call and set mine up a week before it was built. I wanted delivery 3 weeks after it was built, amonth from now, and the first three days I asked for were full.
I still got a good delivery day and I'm glad to see those people in BG so doing so well.
