How many of you actually test drove your new vette. Every dealer I have been to has the vettes on the showroom floor and the seem reluctant to allow a test drive. Also, With the price of the vettes what they are do most of you finance through GMAC or does the typical vette owner pay cash? I expect payments of around $ 700 a month.
Depends on the dealer. Alot of dealers do not want you to test drive it because they don't have any on the lot that they want to put miles on.
Or they figure if you need to test drive it then you can't afford it.
Community Chevy in Burbank let me test drive.
I doubt you'll get 700 a month on a buy, maybe a lease.
Even if you go 1LT with say 3000 of MSRP it is going to be about 42000 not including tax and licensing.
The closest you may get will be 800, with no options on the vette 72 months at 7.9 percent with GMAC.
That is the absolute base model, nothing down.

I test drove a convertible before placing my order. It was actually at a different dealer than the one I originally went to (and previously purchased an Avalance). I returned to the original to place the order. I will be test driving "my" car to make sure there are no issues before handing over the check. The best rates I could find are around 5.6-6% so I'd need to make about 10% before taxes to break even so I am planning on paying cash.
Test drove my first C6, the PR with manual tranny. It only had 30 miles on it when I bought it. Did not ask to test drive the Silver Coupe with auto tranny that I swapped it in on.
Already had my financing lined up at 3.9% with my credit union when I bought both of them. Actually, both dealers handled the credit union paperwork for me. Had a trade-in and a downpayment for both.
My dealer has a few '05's on the lot and they let me drive one. Granted it was only for 2 exits down the freeway, turn around and come back with the sales guy sitting next to me. However, my wife and I had driven 2 Vettte's at the GM Auto Show in Motion so we were pretty satisfied. Many dealers are like this - my WRX was the same way. Factories aren't paying for demo's like they used to (except in like Camry's and such). Think about how many demos they'd need to represent the myriad different options available on the Vette.
I'm looking at about $1K/month for 5 years for a LMB/3LT/MN6 coupe. I expect to pay it off early but in a cash crunch at the moment. eLoan is advertising 5.9% w/ good credit.
I test drove mine twice. Had 4 miles on it when I started, sixteen when I bought it. 6.0% loan. Have financing through your bank or credit union or e-loan pre-arranged BEFORE you walk into the finance office, and challange them to beat it.
It was very difficult for me to find a dealer that would let me test drive a new corvette & when I did find one, he offered to let me drive one for two miles only, I declined. I looked for dealers that had used C6's & test drove them. Good Luck.

I was allowed to test drive my car when I bought it the day after Thankgiving. I offered a handshake that I would take the car at the under MSRP negotiated price we agreed upon in the first 15 minutes. It may also have helped that I walked in with a Purchase Check from Capitol One for the entire amount.
I bought my 1LT, MXO, QG7 and financed nearly all of it for 84 months at $696/mth at 4.95% through a local credit union who's rate beat Capital One.
I didn't have the luxury of paying cash nor the self-discipline to save the money anyway. I am weak -- but I drive a new C6.

If you live near a forum dealer try one of them. I went to Kerbeck and spoke with Dave Salvadore. I got to test drive two Corvettes before I placed my order. Kerbeck & Dave are a class act
No test drive. The forum said it was upgrade compared to the C5 I owned. Cash deal from forum dealer Rick Daniel out of state. Courtesy delivery. All went well. Car is better than I expected.

Hey that is a great rate, would you mind sharing the name of the credit union ?
I just joined Patelco to get 6.25% 84 mo. from a recomendation here, always looking for better
84 months seems a bit long to finance a car, I guess you could set it up that way and always pay more if you wanted to. I always thought the dealer could get the best rates for you. Wonder if GM will be offering any special financing soon?
Bought a 98 vert from the Dealer and in a week I went back in and I drove the c6 vert 4mi on it. From then I was hooked.... Got back and told them to write it up. Dealer took back 98 just as I had never bought it . Back in July I got 5.50% Local bank. Interest rates have gone up a bit and it will also depend on credit score. Best news is 4 more payments and it is mine,mine,mine.... Save about 13k and that will be a excellent downpayment and wait for special interest rates and they will be coming.... Get with your dealer and let him know what you have for down and what you want your payments to be and when he thinks they can get you there they will call you.... That will make them deal a tad stronger with you... Worth a try... Good Luck....
I test drove a Z51 6 speed manual and a Z51 6 speed auto at the local Chevy dealer here in the Tempe area. They were reluctant at first but when they saw I was serious, they were really nice. Trouble was, they would not honor the GM Supplier Discount, so I bought it from Tommy Jr at MacMulkin. Best car buying experience in my life! Tommy is a class act.

I usually agree but I could use the business expense I will have to sit down and revisit that, had origional thoughts of fully paid first
I have a local dealer offering 1.9% and .9% on new Vettes, MSRP. I called to verify, still might be some fine print though Tried to get another dealer to offer same and told no way it's a GM offer
It's OK, I don't need to find out, went with a forum dealer for my order

I test drove an 05 vert from a local dealer. He had a waiting list for his allocation for 06's. I contacted Dave Salvatore at Kerbeck, ordered my 06 with them and did NCM delivery. I didn't drive mine until the day I picked it up. No financing this time, paid cash. The rate was 5.25% from my CU.
I got to deive both an auto and MN6 at the GM auto show in motion. They even allowed you to flog them!

Same here, I test drove a C6 at the GM Auto Show in Motion before I bought mine. They give you a nice gray t-shirt with a Vette on the front and a Hummer on the back, along with a $500 coupon you can take to the dealer to use on any GM vehicle (we used the coupon the day before it expired!).
Before you can test drive the C6 you have to get "certified" by driving a couple other GM cars first. I felt sorry for the girl who had to sit in the passenger seat of the C6 with everyone, with everyone wanting to take it really fast through the turns and accelerate down the home stretch it must have been like riding a rollercoaster all day.
When I first went shopping for my 03 Cobra, every dealer wouldn't let me test drive. Almost, every dealer. JC Lewis Ford in Savannah let me take an extended test drive. One manager even offered to let me take the car home overnight to see "how it felt". There was no need. I was sold after dropping the top and taking the test drive. Some dealers get out of hand with refusing test drives. I mean, most serious buyers can test drive $80-100K MB's or BMW's all day without any hassles. Seems weird that dealer's freak out about a $50K car. Nothing sells like getting someone behind the wheel of a performance car. Kind of like selling a house without letting people inside it. "You might get dirt on the carpet".
