After a month and a half my coupe's build date is April 11 (thank you Kevin!). To say I'm impatient to get my first vette is a big understatement .
I'm aware of the party line for delivery time (3 days to 3 weeks), but I'm curious to see what the new owners who've taken delivery since Jan have seen for delivery time. I want to believe it'll be fast but I've read in recent posts that it looks like the cars are stacking up in BG. What have you all seen?
I'm trying very hard to be Zen about it...and I'm failing.
What happened in Jan, Feb and March has little relevance to what's happening in BG right now. I spoke to people that got their vettes in 3 days.. ha ha.. well you'd have to get very very lucky for that to happen now. There were quite a few cars shipped to Michigan for clutch replacement. Now those cars are flowing back to BG. That's making it worse combined with producing more vettes...... So.... What should you expect? My guess is anything less than 2 weeks would be great. My car was built last week and I might not see it another 2 weeks or longer!! Not to great but welcome to the wacky world of GM..................
BTW.. ask anyone that's recently seen the yard at BG. They'll tell you cars are piling up big time..........
I ordered on Jan 28th and I picked up the car on March 28th. It was built the week of the March 20th. Early in the week according to the transport driver. Worth the wait. During that time I cleaned out the garage, cleaned and waxed my other car, read the manual 5 times and lurked on this forum. Start preparing 6 MP3 mixes.
Congrats.

Ours was built this past Tuesday but have yet to hear from dealer. We are hoping to hear today. Grumble, Grumble, Gripe, Gripe
It's totally hit or miss. If a truckload is going to a certain area and they need another car to fill it out... and it's your car BINGO! You hit the jack pot. If not then you sit and wait. The worst part is that the dealers are totally clueless because there is no automatic notification system from the factory. The dealer has to check every day to see if the event code has changed... A very poor system............
My car was built on Mar. 23rd. The status on the 24th. showed "Bayed" (whatever that means). Last Thursday (Mar. 30th.) the status changed to "Shipped" (but the dealer can not tell when it shipped). As of yesterday the car has not arrived. I am not sure how long it takes to get from BG to So.Cal but I would have to assume that it should arrive sometime this week.
It looks like it'll be the luck of the draw and I'll have no idea until it's on the road! Rick sure is going to get tired of hearing from me after the cars is built. I'll be sounding like a 7 year old in the back seat of a station wagon,"Is it here yet, is it here yet, is it here yet?".
Anyone else have stories about getting the car from BG to them?
I am the new proud owner of a Monterey Red Z51 6MN Vert. The car was built FRi Mar 24th, and was delivered to my local NJ dealer on Mar 30th. I suspect that the end of the month is incentive for the factory to ship quickly in order to recognize revenue. I also suspect that with many high volume dealers in the NE, there are many trucks going in this direction.
Ordered on Feb 28th, GM accepted it on March 1st, I watched the car being built on March 24th, got to within 4 from the end of the line when they shutdown for the weekend. It came off the line Monday morning, March 27th and it has sat in Bowling Green for over a week waiting for a truck. Man, I'm getting impatient! There are two people in this thread whose cars were built within a day of mine and they already have them. Even a guy in California got his, wish they could have had my car on that truck to drop it off in Arizona.
Got an nice email today, Dealer just got a silver/red Coupe they didn't know was coming. It's here. Built 3/27, delivered in Arizona 4/5, that's 10 days, not bad!
