Default Flywheel Recall

Guys, got my black-vert-6sp-z51 on 3/24 - love it

Heard about recall - I am right in the middle of the vins affected.
My build date was 2/22.

Am sick to think they'll have to take this wonderful car apart after the care I saw them take putting them together at the plant.

Am sure it will work out; but hate having my first and only vette with this recall cloud.

Happy to share the bullitin if anyone wants it.

My vin fell in same range, based upon what I am told, you may still not be in the recall. I called the local dealer, he ran my vin and said there is nothing active for a recall of any sort for my vehicle based upon the vin

Call your dealer, would like to know what they tell you.

And hey, replacing the flywheel and clutch isnt so bad, the car is well constructed and tolerances are well engineered for this vehicle. Might be a better "feel" when complete. Stay positive.

My VIN is in the range too. Better to know about it and get it fixed if necessary. My '88 had three recalls and it's still going strong!

I saw the recall in Ken's newsletter, I've had my baby for a week now and my Vin does fall within the range, will they be sending me this recall notice in the mail or do I just contact the dealer?

I've helped replace a clutch, pressure plate and flywheel in a buddies garage. Did it an 8 hours and the car came out perfect, albeit with a high performance clutch in it.

I called my dealer since my VIN number is in the range. Originally the service rep said bring it in and we will check it. I then said I'm not bringing it in until you can tell me you have the parts necessary to fix it if there is a problem since my new car doesn't need to sit in the shop waiting for parts.

I am now in the "we will call you back when we get more information" mode.

I guess there is no great hurry as the recall is good until March 31, 2007.
