For you guys with the A6 transmission, does the computer rev match engine speed on downshifts with the paddles? In other words, does the computer "blip the throttle" on manual downshifts with the paddles?
Mine downshifts much quicker/smoother if I blip the pedal myself. ITs not a problem if I'm on the open road and decelerating isn't a big priority. However, its trickier if you're needing to brake into a turn and revs get low, as when the downshift happens, you get extra engine braking until the revs match. You could either learn to use both pedals simunltaneously, or get your timing perfect to switch from the brake to the gas pedal. When it works, it feels great.
The Corvette Quarterly article on the A6 mentions that it does rev match. When I downshift I notice a slight uptick in the RPM before it engages but that's not definitive enough to be proof of rev matching.
I'm convinced that it does blip the throttle, because i used to manually downshift my C5 automatic frequently and it gave quite a lurch. With the C6, I get no lurch. Just the "normal" engine braking.
