Default Atomic Orange

I was out and about today working in Clarksville, TN. I come out of a restaurant and see a Saturn Vue with this very bright orange paint. I go online and see that they offered this color (Orange Fusion) on 2006 new models but only till 10/10/05? Could this be the new Atomic Orange, Fusion has something to do with Atoms doesn't it? Anyway, was nice but really bright, I guess kind of like looking at DSOM with a mushroom cloud behind it until your retinas melted?
Comments please!

Well, there's a color for everyone. You know what they say.... every corvette is red, all the rest are mistakes.

fusion is when 2 or more bind together. Yes, atoms do fuse.

To be frank, why not just wait and see what it really looks like?

I'll be at the Bash where it will be unvailed, was just curious if someone has inside info and knew the Orange Fusion (discontinued) was the new Atomic.

I was over at the SSR forum checking things out a few months back and there was originally supposed to be a "Spring Edition" SSR. This was before the SSR was cancelled, but the color on the truck was a bright orange. If you do a search for the Spring Edition SSR, I believe that you will see what will be Atomic Orange for the Corvette.

To each his own. I would buy a pre-owned Atomic Orange Corvette before I would buy a Monterey Red Pre-owned Corvette. Just because you like Monterey Red better does not automatically mean that it will be better for resale. Very seldom does a color alone affect the resale value.

oh my--I hope they can sell some of those H2's in that color. Wouldn't be my choice, but who knows someone will like it. Some people like the blue/red color combo.

Certain colors, ie. white, are much less popular and appeal to a much smaller population than red, black, silver, etc. If price is a function of supply and demand, and the demand for a certain color is much smaller, it would follow that the resale value of a car with a less popular color would be lower. This is why most dealers never stock a white Vette and also why GM doesn't manufacture pink vettes.

I can understand what you are trying to say...however I can't agree that a white Corvette would have a lower resale value than a red one, or that a orange one would have a lower resale value than a red one. I have been around the retail automobile business for most of my life and I haven't seen this to be the case. Especially not with an orange Corvette. It may be the case if the car was an extremely hideous color, but that is why GM doesn't even make those colors in the first place.
