Default New Vette + Deer = $$$

If it weren't for bad luck I would have none! I get home from vacation and can't wait to drive my 05 blue 6-speed!! I get 1 mile from home and a deer runs across my hood:

Any idea what a fender costs? I need a fender and some paint at a minimum. The best part is I've only had this car for 3 weeks and haven't even made a payment yet!!!

Did you call your insurance agent. My insurance would cover the cost 100%.

I am sure my insurance will cover it but then they will probably raise my rates. I have progressive and I have never had a claim with them so I guess I'll price the repairs to see if it is worth claiming...

You're very luck you weren't hurt. I've heard horror stories.

Be thankful!

It should be cover by your comprehensive coverage and rates should not go up. It like having a broken windshield.

I am surprised the deer did not end up imbedded in your windshield. Sorry for your pain.

Be sure to take it to a good autoshop and insist that they blend the new fender in with the rest of the car. Its hard to get the paint to have an exact match so they will need to blend it in by overspraying the adjoining parts. Otherwise, you will be able to tell the slightly different shade of blue on the fender from the rest of the car.
