I just picked up my vette on Tuesday. I did notice one thing my fuel range has never really changed. I had a full tank and it said 200 miles or so with an average of 20 mpg. Now it still says 200 miles with the same average and I am down a 1/4 of a tank. Has anyone experienced this at all. The range always worked well in my C5 I was wondering about this one...
you'll need to take a trip longer than a couple of miles(i.e.highway driving for a while)to get it to go up.Oh,and mine so far, hasn;t gone much over 200 miles either for range.

Mine did the same thing when it was new even when I reset it. It seemed to start working like my C5 did after about 1,000 miles or so. I guess it takes the computer time to adjust. The range now gets up close to 400 or so.
Try "resetting" the readouts. I think these are based on your latest drive behavior. Resetting will start them from scratch.
After driving around town @ 14-15 MPG and at 1/2 tank, my range reads like 125 or so. If I get on an expressway for a trip, the Range increases. One can assume that the range is calculated on the fuel mileage experienced over some period of time or distance, like the last 20 minutes or last 100 mi. I find mine fairly accurate.
The computer calculates the amount of fuel in the tank and multiplies it by the current miles per gallon the car is achieving (which would be indicated in the DIC) to get you approximate range. If you have 10 gallons in the tank and are driving in the city for instance and getting 15 mpg, the computer calculates the range to be approximately 150 miles. If you were to get on the highway and now get close to 30 mpg, the range would approximately double to around 300 miles. The computer is doing this calculation constantly so your range will always vary.

I never reset mine, but it changes substantially based on the type of driving I've been doing most recently. If I've been on a long road trip, it will often read well over 400 miles. If I've been taking medium length local trips, it will show low-to-mid 300's. It works well in my experience.
The range takes the fuel remaining and multiplies it by an average fuel consumption (if it used the instant number you would see the range change drastically every time you stomped on the gas)
If you want to see the range change drastically... next time your car is empty select the range and then go start to fill up.. watch the range display as the digits start rolling upwards
My range was 385 mi when the C6 was filled up the first time.. when I picked up the car on the OH/PA border (West of Pittsburgh), I made it to the NY/CT border on the same tank of gas.. my total mileage at that point was 405 mi from point to point. The car said it avged 22.2 mpg..
The bigger mystery was the fact that I didnt see a SINGLE cop on the whole ride.. no speed traps and not one even cruising by, in either direction.. what are the chances of that? Guess I wasnt going fast enough.
