I put the Convertible Wind Break on my 05 C6 about a month ago. I had it up to about 80 MPH to day listing to the MP3 on the radio today with no problems hearing the tunes. When I left for work this morning it was 48 deg and I had the top down with the Wind Break on and the bun warmer on and felt real warm. Best $340.00 I spent for any option on this car. When I slow down, I just roll down the windows.
You're one of the few who has posted a positive review on the GM windscreen. I asked about it several months ago and was convinced by a significant number of responses that 1). it didn't really reduce wind turbulence in the cockpit 2). a pain to assemble, diasemble, etc., as you have to take it out everytime you raise or lower your top 3). doesn't collapse or store easily in the trunk, and 4). too expensive. Any comments on this previous feedback? I have a rollbar in my other sportscar and with it, relatively no turbulence compared to my C6 Vert. Glad its working for you.
There is a major different in wind turbulence. Now I can hear the tunes. Yes you do have to take it off before putting up the top. This takes about
30 sec. takes longer to put back in the bag. If I am not going on the freeway I would not put it on but my wife does not like the top down doing freeway speeds. This is why I bought it. It was cheaper then getting a new wife. I was socked how well it works.
Thanks for the information. I also checked on forum and couldn;t find enough good feedback. I wanted one for some of the same reasons. Think now I will go ahead and place an order. It would be appreciated if you could say from where you got yours.
How about a little more info on how you used it. Were the windows down or up?. How fast were you driving? Did you try the windows at different heights?.Do you wear a cap or were you bare headed?. Did your hair get messed or not?.

It work well at any speed but I love it on the freeway and when it is below
60 deg. I was driving around at 52 deg with only a shirt on but don't forget I am from Cleveland and use to the cold. At freeway speed you can hear the radio and use the cell phone. Cell phone is still hard to use but now I can take calls. Before there was no way. With windows down it does help but works best with windows all the way up at high speeds. I took it upto let say 97 mph with no problems.
I found it new on e-bay for $340.00. that is why I bought it. It was a pain to put in. Remember the bonnet will close after about 10 minutes of being open (make sure that you unhook the battery). I am 6'5" and I do not wear a cap. I hope this information helps.
Fred Beans has it for $325 or so plus shipping. I am still on the fence with this acc. I would like to buy, but I still question its real effectiveness, especially at $300 and some change. Looks from GM stock photos like the bottom bar on this thing could rub the waterfall emblem and paint between the seats
Don't know if one couldn't cut down the wind turbulance by simply rolling up the windows?
Yes there is a manual override for the power top. But from my understanding it will automatically close the bonnet is left open. I did not take a chance on it and unhooked the battery. After reconnecting the battery you must re-index the windows before the top will work on a power top.
