We just had some storms roll through, which included some golf ball sized hail (we're keeping some in the freezer to show my daughter next week). Glad we had all the cars inside - should be interesting looking at cars in the train parking lot tomorrow morning to see who didnt pull the car in.
I'd think a vette would be less susceptable to hail damage, given it's a fiberglass body. This correct?

After seeing some rock damage on a few Vettes, I wouldn't want to see what golf ball sized hail would do. You would probably have some HUGE paint chips, probably some cracks. Watch the sky!

My folks down in Iowa City area had a tornado roll thru and get garbage all over the Univ of Iowa, class there is cancelled tomorrow! Hate to have a beautiful vette sitting out in that weather....
I went through 4 hail storms driving my new Vette back from BG just a month or so ago. Painful to watch and painful to sit in your new car waiting for the hail to come through the windshield. (at least it sounded like it could).
Most of the hail was marble sized and came down with heavy rain which softened the hail up a bit and reduced the impact. No dings, scratches or dents.

Well at least it won't dent like a steel car. (I've seen some cars in the DFW area that look like they took about a 100 whacks with a ball peen hammer ) It will take a really big hail stone to crack the body but it could loosen up the paint if it flexes enough. Glass, however is the big problem. All auto glass is pretty much the same and those wide expanses on the Vette (Coupe especially) are at risk.
