Default Rotor retaining clips

Is it necessary to replace the rotor retaining tinnerman clips after removing the rotors? I think they are only used to hold the rotors in place during assembly. They certainly don't hold the rotor on any other time. I damaged a few taking them off.

Naw! I believe the factory puts them on because the spindle assembly comes together when it is joined to the frame of the car during the assembly line process and the retaining clips are used just to keep the rotors from falling off of the assembly while in shipment and also while it is being placed on the car's frame on the assembly line.
Ok to say, Sionara baby, to those clips if you want. I left mine on after I changed the rotors and brake pads and wheels out this past Monday but that was only my choice.

Ciao...
