Pick up my new C6 Tue. at the NCM in Bowling Green 3.5 miles on it. Drove it over to the Corvette plant to take some pictures by the Mural painted on the wall by tour entrance. When I got out of the Vette the left inside tail light was hanging out by the wires. So much for GM quality less than 5 miles and already falling apart!!
I've heard of this happening. One screw holds it in and the guy misses the retainer and the screw falls out and then the light assembly follows shortly. Hope that is all that you ever have go wrong.

Not a big deal, just one little screw and it will be good as new.
You should take it back and ask for a new one. Or you should post the problem on every Web site on the Internet to let everyone know just how bad your Vette is
Do you even like your Vette? Are you happy with it? How's the performance? Do you like the way it looks?

Beating up on this guy is not cool. He had a legitimate problem with his car you are belittling him.

Why all of the crap? The guy made a valid point. You should not experience crap like that esp a brand new car. I bet if most of you who are giving the guy crap had something like that happen you would be ticked off as well. Can it be fixed? Yes. IS it a major problem? No. But does it leave a bad taste in a customers mouth? You bet it does. I agree 100% with the guy in that QC should be a major part right up there with making the customer happy.
The car has less than 5 miles on the odometer, and it is already falling apart. I would expect them to discover this before delivery. Sure, it probably is a simple fix, but it tells you that the car was not assembled properly. It makes you wonder what else they may have missed during assembly.
Day 1 with your new vette, and you already have to take it in for repairs. Of course that is going to start off a relationship on a bad note. It is like going out on a date with a girl for the first time, and when she opens the door, she sneezes right in your face. Bad start, but that memory may quickly fade when you nail it and see what a wild ride she is.
But as for GM quality, my C6 was good for the first 1,000 miles. Then she freaked out on me. I thought that I'd take it into the shop, they'd diagnose what was wrong, get a part overnighted, and get me on my way. Little did I know how far from the truth that would be. I even got my phone call from Bowling Green when I was at the shop for the first time. I bit my tongue and didn't ask them what "Reduced Engine Power" meant because I thought they could get it fixed quickly and the first time. After 10 more visits to the shop for nearly 2 months of downtime, I gave up on her and GM.
They might not have seen it on quality control. It obviously didn't fall out until he drove the car from the museum. One of the speed bumps could have knocked it out. This is a small item overall. I had a rattle in my hatch. It was the hook that holds the luggage shade. All I had to do was unscrew it and screw it back in again. Nothing to say quality is horrible. Nothing in this world is perfect. Would I be upset, sure, but if they fix it, which I would expect they did, it shouldn't be something to bash GM about.
