I just got my brand new ZO6 about a week ago. I love it. So when i was just driving around having a great time with a friend, a guy drives by with another corvette and flips me the bird, then takes off laughing. I dont think he knew that i had Z06 with little mods. He had a regular C6 with an exhaust. So I let him go and we both got stuck at the next light. I slowly pulled up and i said "you know bro, that wasnt nice." The light turns green and i showed him what a little horsepower was, which left him a little shocked.
Just a little story for ya'll to enjoy..
Man, that guy must be a real azzhat. I would never believe anybody driving a Corvette of any vintage would ever do that to another Corvette owner. I think you did exactly the right thing. I probably would have asked wtf was his problem before humiliating him.
Good on yer!
GM
That was NOT street racing. Just a small physics experiment in time and distance................ and attitude Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!
Maybe he was one of those who had a deposit down for MSRP on a Z06 and later found out that was not the case.... Whatever the reason, not a very cool thing to do....

A JO C6 Corvette owner!! Imagine that. He obviously has no manners or knowledge of model differences. It seems to justify the physics experiment - as long as safety goggles were in place!

I'm calling BS. That was this guys first post. Let's see some pics of your car...with you holding a sign that says "my zo6".

I'd look at it like he was a friend just busting on you cause he obviously loves the C6 but likely couldnt afford the Z. If I was in that situation and a friend of mine bought a Z, I'd do the same - then buy him a beer!

And if I had flipped you off, and you demo'd that vehicle for me like that, I'd sheepishly join you at the next light, say "nice car, how about a beer?" (Assuming we had front license plates so we wouldn't taking breathalizers later! )

I would NOT be surprised if you are correct. I have been around vettes, and vette rides, groups, events for a long time. You can't find (like Harley people) a more loyal, respectful, and mutally appreciative group of people. I have just never seen that before, or even close. Anyone with the knowledge, and understanding of plunking down 50-80k on a new C6 has earned their corvette stripes, or at least I would hope so. You didn't cut him off, or hit on his chick.............. did ya?
You guys can go ahead and roll your eyes, but stoplightracing is not exactly the same as street racing, but it is a form of racing on the street or more specifically, a kill story, and the Kill STory section was disposed of long ago.
