I have a silver convertible (cobalt interior) and bought it for the aformentioned reasons (easy care, chip invisibility, etc) but...a couple of weeks ago I wanted to drive a new 6 speed auto (mine's an MN6) so I drove to my dealer. On the floor they had a 2006 Monterey Red (cashmere top and interior) auto and graciously pulled it out so I could drive it. Well, I almost traded right there! That color is shocking, in the sun it just pops, so unless Light Pewter Metallic makes a comeback in 2008 (when my lease is up), Monterey Red is me!!!!
Silver cars always come with an excuse, such as, "I'm too **** and uptight to own a darker colored car, so I copped out and got silver." Or, "I'm just scared I'll get caught speeding so I picked a car with a boring color." Or, "I can't live with a dirty black car so I'll just let the silver paint hide the dirt."
If silver hides dirt, does that mean silver looks like...
THERE, that should start something
I vote for silver...silver is best because that's what color mine is and I LOVE IT. If it is the right color for you and you get a big smile on your face every time you go out to the garage (no matter what the color), then you have the best color too! They are all awesome.
KMK454...those are sweet pics. That's my favorite time of day to take pictures...just before dark. It would look better with Black wheels though!
Because if you ever want to paint the car, the primer coat is already there.
Too funny. Been gone for a few days and thought I would open up this thread to see lots of silver loving hippie's telling us how great their color is. Instead, I get one of the best "burns" that I have seen!!!
For the record, I like silver. But this is too funny! I still can't think of a come back for that one!!

I think the silver really shows off when the sun is on it. It's like a totally different car. The sun just accentuates the curves. Looks great with the yellow ambers from the front view. I almost always look at the car in front of me to see my reflection.
I also noticed that the reflection off the paint is so bright, the when I'm driving on the highway, passing under exit signs, there is a beam of light that reflects off my car onto the sign. It could blind someone.
there are at least 2 colors of silver. Did a big weekend trip to central Tx with our Corvette club this past weekend and I'm following 2 different silvers. Ones a 99 vert with a flat grey color and a 04 Z-06 with a really nice silver that looks... well, machined silver. Now I'm wondering which one of these my new C6 is going to look lke! Anybody have any idea what the diff is on these two cars?
Silver is good cause I like drivin my car, not washin it. Now you gold chain types will probably be attracted to other colors cause your thinkin its going to turn the heads of young girls that wouldnt spit in your mouth if your teeth were on fire. hehe
every one stop complaining if you don't want to read it just don't click on it. It's only fun... Any yes silver\cobalt is the best because I can't STAND ROCK CHIPS.
