Just wanted to drop a line or two and say hello...I've been lurking for a week or so and just joined. I recently sold an '03 10th anniv. Mustang Cobra (black) and am in the process of researching the C6.

It was cheap and easy to make big power on the Cobra but the fit and finish, ergonomics, wheel hop, weight (3700+ lbs) etc. conspired against making it a really great car....(the supercharger whine was cool, though)....I am seriously considering moving up to a C6...have owned some Chevy muscle in the past (67 Nova SS, '67 Chevelle SS, couple of Z28's, etc.) but never a Vette. I am now officially in C6 education mode.

Welcome to the Forum...you could not have found a better place to learn about Corvettes. Good luck with your decision....even though we all probably know the outcome. Good luck.

Welcome to the Forum! Lots and lots and lots of good info can be had from the friendly and knowledgable members here. I had an '80 Mustang and loved it, but the Vette is in another class, as you probably know already.

You're right behind me in this, I went through the education process and decide the 06 C6 was a good model to buy for a first vette. Got mine 4 weeks ago, just now put first 1000 miles on it. So far only issue is minor, the driver’s door is not set right and the leading edge rubbed a small spot of paint off, can barely see it. Found it while wiping the dust off.

Put an Optima Red 34 in just because I needed a battery for another car, it fit OK easy swap out.

I got the Mont red Z51 3LT, looks great in a variety of light, dusk to bright sun it sparkles. The polycarbonate roof makes it feel like the interior is larger IMO. So far at 90 deg it is not too hot although you can feel the radiant heat.
