Only thing I know of is a complete permanent coating...I waited and waited for blackout covers but they don't seem to be available anywhere...so I went with the coating...and ya don't have to worry about them falling off, being stolen, cracking, etc.

These are full lens (complete housing) that replace the OEM set. Got them from Richard at 'corvette_enhancements@yahoo.com'

Now if only they would make something for the side light.

Personally, I think it looks silly to blackout the tails and still have the red side signal in such proximity.

Still, those are very nice. I hate the film ones that you have to put on because I can never get the bubbles out and it looks like crap. these hard acrylics would be nice as long as they are legit about the 3M clear double side tape being totally invisible...

I'd only worry about some jackass prying them off in a parking lot.

I think they're working on one for the 3rd brake light, but I'm not sure about the side markers. They do have 'em for the C5, though, I believe.

yes, and the Richard at the e-mail address I listed also has blackouts for the side lites and the 3rd brake lite.

Please excuse the slight highjack: Craig, my B&M shifter should be in this week and I just ordered the 44 LED 3rd brake lite with the pulsar unit. I think all that is now left is a blower or a S/C. Think Harriett will let me get it"

Just can't bring myself to liking these. (I've tried.) Let's face it .. we all keep searching for little mods to add. And, I think that sometimes we add something just to be adding something .. to satisfy an "urge."

The black tail lights - IMHO - "dingy up" the appearance. Maybe like a girl with black finger nail polish .. ("not that there's anything wrong with that ..") but, the bright red factory lights are good looking and give the rear a good, clean look .. with ALL body colors.

My concern is the safety issue of having diminished output of tail and brake lights. If I was careless and rearended someone with tinted brake and tail lights, you can bet I would be blaming the person who put a non-DOT approved light on their vehicle. Thanks but no thanks.
