Default First Impression....

I just turned 750 miles on my C6 today which was picked up last week. My overall first impression of the car can be summed up in one word.. “Amazing”! After reading some of the horror stories regarding quality issues with the C6 I didn’t know what to expect. I inspected the car with a fine tooth comb and have found zero problems. Fit, finish and over all quality were excellent. The paint is excellent with very little orange peel and I couldn’t find any lack of coverage. Everything on the car performed flawlessly and exactly as it was designed. I honestly had my doubts that GM could deliver a quality product that I would be happy owning. Let me be the first to say I was wrong and my doubts were quickly put to rest when I inspected the car. It was the first time in a long time that I was really excited about a car.. any car! I’ve read comments that the interior looked cheap or inferior for the cost of the car. I could not disagree more! I thought the fit, finish and materials looked great. The interior is very attractive and super clean looking. Could it be improved? Well anything can be improved but I’m extremely happy with the over look. The car itself SCREAMS sexy and high performance. With the Victory Red paint and CCW wheels it gets stares wherever I drive it. It’s a rush every time the Corsa Sport exhaust system rumbles to life. I absolutely love the sound of that engine. I finally managed a WOT launch today through the first 3 gears and that engine and MN6 rock. I came to the conclusion that 400 HP is more than power enough for now. The C6 offers outstanding performance and style combined with I believe unmatched value. Am I pleased with this car? The unequivocal answer is yes, yes and yes! What’s not to like? Only time will tell how it holds up with additional time and miles. As for first impressions the car has far exceeded all my expectations. I’m extremely glad I finally pulled the trigger to get a new C6. I believe it’s worth every penny I paid for the car. It’s already bringing me a ton fun every time I drive it. I’m still creating phony reasons to drive it just for the fun of driving. I even admit to sneaking a peek in garage before turning out the lights. That to me tells the entire story about owning one of these cars. GM has no doubt elevated the corvette to a new and greatly improved all around level with the C6.

Well, I couldn't have said it better. I have had mine for about a month and "Wow!" is my single word sum up!

Congratulations!

Nice summation!

Careful.....I had Corsa's on my C6 vert.....I think they cost me 10,000 miles of premature tire wear just revving the darn thing all day!

Default Horror Stories!

Glad you are enjoying the car. I think saying horror stories is a little extreme to describe the issues that have cropped up. Hope you aways are free of these minor quality issues.

I couldn't agree more with your comments. The C6 is a great car. Been enjoying mine for 11 months with no problems.

I agree 100%!

Glad you are enjoying the car!!!

I have over 3,000 miles on mine now, no problems at all. I love the car more and more each time I drive it.

I'll admit, my hair stands up sometimes when I read some of the C6 horror stories here at the forum, but my car has performed flawlessly and has been so excellent so far that these stories are hard to believe.

Congrats on the new C6!

Did you buy it used? Or did GM install wheels and a catback for you?

Default Wait

Craig,
I know it's eating at you to do more. I recommend that you wait and see what others have done to get a real appreciation of what's available. A local Vette club and CI are ideal places to meet - see - & discuss.

2500 miles, most with the top off only problem I have had is dirt on the exhaust tips and tail end.. and the dirty glass on the inside of the hatchback due to top off beach cruising...
