Has Yours Broken?
Found a small silver pin (looks like a mini barrel fuse) on the floor mat the other day. I had no idea where it came from so I kept it. The next day when to pop the hood and only one side released. Pulled the release again and it came off in my hand 
The pin fell out of one side of the release handle and with the force on the other side it just broke. I made a temp repair and ordered a new one from Gene @ fred beans. I know most are saying take it to the dealer, but for $23 I will avoid the headache and the chance for more damage to my car
