Default RAP vs ACC

My car isn't here yet and I have read the manual but I still don’t understand the difference between ACC mode and RAP. Can someone explain the difference ?

Thanks !

From the 2005 owner's manual. The button referred to below is the off button, or the bottom of the START button.

When the engine is off, press this button to place the
vehicle in accessory mode. ACCESSORY MODE
ON will display on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
This mode allows you to use things like the radio
and the windshield wipers while the engine is off. Use
accessory mode if you must have your vehicle in motion
while the engine is off, for example, if your vehicle is
being pushed or towed.
After being in accessory mode for about 20 minutes, the
vehicle will automatically enter RAP or OFF, depending
on if the doors are opened or closed.

Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
With RAP, your power windows and the audio system
will continue to work for up to 10 minutes after the
engine is turned off or until either door is opened. If a
door is opened, the power windows and audio system
will shut off.

The main difference is the amount of time the vehicle will stay in that mode.

Thanks ! I saw that but does one mode (ACC) power certain equipment and the other (RAP) powers other stuff ?

<< After being in accessory mode for about 20 minutes, the
vehicle will automatically enter RAP >>

So does this mean it will be on for 30 mins total before it shuts down ?

...also in a normal "key" car, ACC needs that the key is in e ACC position, and it will stay on as long as you want. RAP will allow the key to be removed and will automatically time out between 10 - 20 minutes as a general rule.

I can't verify that personally, but that's the way I read it, UNLESS you open the door, then it shuts OFF.
