Last December I had the diff fluid changed out in an attempt to solve a really bad scraping sound problem coming from the diff. As some of you know, that is step one in a two, maybe three step process to get the diff from making loud scrapping sounds. Step two (changing out the clutch package(s)) took place a couple of weekends ago at Cormier Chevy in Long Beach supposedly (who really knows what they did or didn’t do). Sounds coming from the diff again are not encouraging although it was quiet during the interum.
My question is: if the “replacement” clutches start to go bad like the factory ones did, what happens next? I’m starting to wonder how often I will have to have this same procedure done.

It really shouldn't happen once let alone twice! If a new differental clutch pack goes bad that fast it sounds like something else is also going on. Well unless you've been doing a lot of 4500 rpm launches..... I would find out from the service records exactly what they did to correct the problem the last time it happened.
Since you mentioned it, I would have to say that since the clutch pak was changed, my driving habits have been quite conservative...well within what would/should be expected of this vehicle.
Last night I arranged to take my C6 back to Cormier in Long Beach to have the clutches changed; or, at least that's what I believed they were going to do. After going to a lot of trouble to get there this morning, one of the service writers told me that I am still on the original clutches. This explains why they are still sounding like shredded-up coke cans. The sound of these clutches is really bad; It makes me cringe every time I hear it. Not only that, but the ride dynamics of the rear end is messed up. When I am backing out of parking spaces, there is a tendency for the back end to feel like the rear tires are completely deflated. This really pisses me off.
And get this: I was told that the necessary parts are going to take at least a couple days to get "in". So why in THEE HELL am I bringing my car to you today? What a waste of my time and money! Complete lack of professionalism.
Just got a call from Cormier Chevrolet....the needed parts will take at least one week to arrive. This is completely ridiculous. Are these parts manufactured in China? Clearly GM doesn't want to spend one penny more than they have to to get parts shipped even if their customers have to wait.
