rear hatch problem
Went to have my 06 windows tinted when the tint guy pointed out the fact that the rear hatch weather strip had a wear hole at the top center of the car. the hatch window was the rubbing weather strip. Dealer replaced the weather strip, but the strip puled away the first time I opened the hatch after letting it "cure" for 24 hours. Back to the dealer who again replaced the weather strip, and shimmed the hatch hinge so the window would not rub so hard on the weather strip. every thing appeared to fit. Let car sit for 9 days without opening the hatch. Everything looked OK. Now 3 weeks later, I can see where the weather strip has pulled away slightly and a wear mark has started across the horizontal part of the roof. Dealer has been cooperative and if it takes a new hatch he'll replace it.I'm not so sure that's the problem. Would someone tell me if their hatch rubs the weather strip when the hatch is opened or closed?? Otherwise, the car is great. 4 months old with 2000 miles.
