Default Nav System and Window Tinting

I've got a new C6 with a NAV System and notice that on a sunny day, the glare through the back window washes out the nav systems screen. I'm wondering if tinting the windows will help this problem, but the Nav Sys owners manual says that tinting may render the system inoperable and require an entire window to be replaced. So questions are: 1. anybody have experience with this? 2. any particular tint that you should use or should avoid? 3. does tinting help the problem.

Thanks very much.

I have metallic tint & NAV…No problem.
The NAV antenna is under the dash so as long as you don’t do the windshield you should be OK.

However, if you are still worried about it, you can get Ceramic or Carbon based tints that do not have that problem.

Tint will help the glare problem on the Nav somewhat. You can further reduce the glare by using a touch screen protector film on the Nav.

Where can you get a touch screen protector film that would help? Have you used one with good results? Thanks

NuShield (.net, not .com) has them. Click on the buy button, select Chevrolet as the Manufacturer, then select Corvette '05-06 for the model.

I have used this for a couple of weeks. It helps with the glare problem some. It does not eliminate the problem. What it does a great job of is eliminating all the finger prints/smears. They sell them as a set of 2, and 2 will probably last you for years.
