I ordered my C6 on 4/8/06. I was told it will take anywhere from 6-8 wks to arive. I called my salesman this past Wednesday, and he told me he has no info yet. I was alittle shocked. I really thought I would hear something. This Saturday will be 4 weeks since they placed the order. Is this normal? I might be aliitle restless waiting for this car. You have no idea how many times I day dreamed of myself driving the car already My salesman gave me the order code when he placed the order that day. Its: KBPG4W. I have no idea what the hell that means. All I know is I want my car already! Maybe someone with some pull at the factory can give some status on my order? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

What exacly did you order and did you do an exhaustive search of dealers' invetories to make sure it wasn't already built and ready for immediate delivery?
Chances are your dealer doesn't have an allocation and you order is sitting in the system until his allocation (turn) comes up. He should know what his allocations are from his Weekly Allocation Report. Mine only took 5 weeks till it was sitting in the drive. Your dealer is jerking you around. Drop over to Ken Fitchners forum and ask Ken here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1216163
You should check with Tommy jr @ MacMulkin's in Nashua N.H. Many forum members from around the country bought from him. He's great to deal with. Good luck!
If your dealer doesn't have any info, that is definitely not a good sign. I would serously be considering calling up a forum dealer at this point! Doesn't sound like your dealer has a clue.
I was in the same situation you were and kept getting jerked around by the dealer. I was told 90 days from time of deposit; but at 2 1/2 months, the dealer couldn't give me a build date so I demanded my money back and went elsewhere. After a quick inventory check on the GM website, I found a car close enough to what I had ordered sitting on a dealer's lot within 20 miles of me. I brought it home that weekend. Listen to the members who recommend checking with the Forum Dealers. I wish I new about the Corvette Forum & it's supporting dealers back in Feb. of 05'. I think I would have been saved a lot of headaches. Btw, I've had mine for a little over a year and the thrill of getting in and driving it hasn't worn off yet. So hang in there and good luck!
Try emailing Kevin at the plant and give him your order number.
He is ezra.tarrence@gm.com
good luck
I emailed kevin and he said that he no longer tracks the cars production. He gave me the number to the museum and I called, but they said they cant help me unless the cars a museum delivery.

if your dealer doesn't have an allocation, there is nothing to track. You need to get the straight scoop from your dealer B4 doing anything else. If it were me, based upon the way you have already been kept in the dark, I would move on to a forum dealer. I bought from Tommy Jr. at MacMulkin and did a courtesy delivery and would do it again in a heartbeat. good luck.

When I spoke to my salesman earlier, he mentioned something about allocation. He said something about not getting his allocation yet or something to that affect. I told him to speak to his manager to find out whats going on, he said he will, and hasnt returned my call yet. Its been 3 hrs! I called back an hour ago, but no answer. I called the dealership and asked to speak to the manager and the front desk woman said he's off today and that he'll be in tomorrow. It really sucks cause I know the salesman, he went to school with my younger brother. He told me everything was gonna be ok. They way I feel right now, I could kill him and not worry about the consequences. I plan to go tomorrow to the dealership and demand answers or I'm taking my deposit back. My question concerning the forum dealers are that I have a trade. The dealer offered my $17,000 for it. How would I go about dealing with that with a forum dealer if they're so far away? Will they pick the car up from my house? How does all this work?

Forum dealers and trades don't mix very well. On my one try I was offered $6K less than my local dealer finally gave me. My impression is they want to sell as many new cars as possible but would rather not mess with trades. See what CarMax will offer in a straight-out buy, or sell it your self...
My trade is gonna make or break a deal. I dont want to go through the trouble of selling cause its a PITA. I'm going to the dealership in the morning to see whats up. I better hear what I want to hear. I'll keep you guys posted on whats going on.

Yes, Tommy Junior is the ONLY Person anyone should buy a Corvette from!
This was the ONLY time I've ever had fun buying a car. I ordered from Tommy on March 1st, he told me he had the allocation, it was built on 3/24 & 3/27 and was delivered on 4/5, picked up on 4/6. I also have a GM Supplier Discount that I'll give someone with one stipulation, you have to buy the car from Tommy Jr.
