what should i expect to pay for an Extended Warantee for my c6 vette?
i bought it from a benz dealer and figured they didnt know the first thing about them - and figured i could get a better deal elsewhere...
im assuming price of the warantee will be based on miles covered?
For my car new, i paid 1500 for a 7 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty with 0 ded. I got this through my credit union.
one note to consider if you got a manual .... as I didnt realize this until I was looking myself.... no extended warranty will cover a clutch (not even GM's). In fact, the factory warranty only covers the clutch for 12 months/12,000 miles

well the benz place wanted 2800 bucks for a 36 month extension... so im glad i didnt go with that..
i had to dropp of my new baby this morning.. my FIRST day with the vette and the dang a/c stopped blowing cold, the system is full of freon, but no cold air, so im assuming something electrical? but who knows...
the service guy mentioned that about the clutch not being covered and said it was a pretty expensive fix if i ever did need to repair it...
Email Ken Fichtner, forum member dealer, who'll give you a complete list with mileage and deductible variations. The prices that are supposed to be very good.
p.s. You can buy coverage as if it is a new car up to 12 mos. or 12k miles, which ever is first. Price may go up in the meantime but its still considered a new car for purchase of ext warranty.

I'm a finance manager for a car dealership, the guy who sells these warranties. If I were you guys I would stick to the manufacturer's extended warranties. If you get it anywhere else there are loopholes and hoops to jump through to get the car fixed (there are some that are very good but as a rule..) And just because your buying it from a chevy dealer doesnt mean its a manufacturer's warranty, some sell both. As far as costs go, its up to the dealer (they have to make money too) But the best possible one available, dont pay over 2k for it.
