Looking at the Owner's Manual, I cannot see a differnce between turing t/c off and going to the competition mode setting. The manual seems to say that in both cases, t/c is off, but active handling stays on. Thus, why have a compitition mode, or a separate command to turn t/c off if the result is the same?

When you just hit the button once and turn off traction control, the active handling remains on. In competition mode, the traction control is also off, but the difference is that the active handling is less intrusive. It will let you hang it out a little more before intervening.

This has been covered many times, but it still seems to generate confusion, so let's see if we can make it simple forever:
There are four domains your car's AH/TC can be in. Not two, not three, not five, but four. Here they are:
1. "Default". This is traction control ON, active handling ON.
2. "Traction Control OFF". (The active handling is still on)
3. "Competition Mode". (Traction Control OFF, Active Handling reduced).
4. "TC OFF/ AH OFF" (press and hold five seconds) Not too smart for most, IMHO.

Does comp. mode alter the way the car uses gas or anything like that?
I'm asking just because I've thought that the car feels more "fun" to drive day to day with comp. mode, but I'm curious if it will effect gas milage...
