Default HUD problem

GUys,

Picked up my 06 mr vert today and now the heads up display isn't working. Is there a trick to turning it on? I read the manual and followed the instructions to make sure is was not dimmed all the way down but it just does not turn on. Help.

No trick involved. As long as you have it "turned all the way up", it should work. You could try the height adjustment. If that doesn't work--try the dealer.

This is probably a stupid question, but are you sure you have 3LT?

Take it right to the dealer.

Without the 3LT package there are no controls at all for the HUD. If he said that he has turned the brightness all the way up I assume that he has the controls for the HUD, hence he has a HUD. My bet is that the angle is off. Try moving the display around with the other control if this dosen't work run back to the dealer.

Many new owners don't realise that there is a VERY NARROW viewing position for the HUD. They look for the HUD in the center of the windshield and fail adjust the height correctly.

I agree that it is probably and alignment issue. Also, when I first got in my car, it was a bright and sunny. The hud was turned down so dim that it was barely visible, once I brightened it up, I could see it clearly.
Good luck,
Bill

Good to hear that took care of it. The dealer should have taken care of the initial setup for you. I am sure you aren't the first nor will you be the last to experience the missing "hud".
Good luck and enjoy.

It happened to me one day after I was showing the car to my two teenage cousins....we all have these "duh" moments.
