Default Morror mount for Belltronics

Does anyone know where to get a mirror mount for Bel RX 65 in the C6?

You can get it from Great Lakes Trophies. It's the same one as the Escort mirror mount. I have it and it works great. Some will tell you they have problems with the tape sticking, but they have solved this problem with a better 3M tape.

The great lakes unit doesnt work with the rx65 because it makes the buttons which are on top of the unit inaccessible. They end up right between the mirror and detector with about an 1/8" between. I had the setup up in my car but had to send the great lakes unit back because of this. Bummer, because it makes for a really nice mount if your detector works with it.

This is not true and there is a nice space to operate it.. You simply mount the bracket a little lower..I like this set up alot and have it in my Vette and Rx8!

Yea, I tried the lower mounting thing but then it fell off. Twice. Once I found it down when I got in the car and once it fell off while driving. Makes for a startling thunk. That was with the new sticky tape. It does not mount as designed with the rx65 which is fully up for maximum grip. Put it there and you cant reach the buttons, down where you can and it falls off. To me this means it doesnt work. Like I said I would have liked to have kept it cause I liked the mount.

Thanks, I will probably try the Great Lakes mount. Thanks for the pics. They really helped.

Might want to get the power patch cord from team biker as well. It plugs nicely into the back of the onstar mirror wiring harness.

Bugman has links to it on his website and some nice installation pix.
