Call your insurance first. Some insurance companies will have the windshield repaired without you paying anything extra. They rather pay for repair than future replacement if left alone.

I had mine repaired.......called State Farm.......and was re-imbursed shortly after.
Does anyone know how to repair chips in the windshield? I have two chips about 1-2mm in diameter.
Just go to Safelite's website and schedule an in-driveway repair. Tell them it is a non-insurance repair and the price drops like a rock (better than 50% less in my case). Or call your insurance company and let them pay for it, then raise your rates.
Here in Florida, insurance companies are required to include $0 deductible windsheild replacement for residents. No need to repair (as you will always be able to see it), just replace.

A basic chip costs 50-75 dollars to fix, Ive done at least 10 in the past several years, not worth calling insurance company....
I agreee. I had a windshield replaced in another car for free. Allstate.

Had my C6 five hours when a rock hit my windshield putting a nice "star" with two 4mm "legs" in it. Had that star repaired and three other rock "pits" filled and polished all for $48. Can't tell it ever happened. My recommendation would be to go the repair route.
