3 db of more output also. So yes a little bitty more power. Makes you wonder why they don't put more of a system in these things? Heard a lot of complaints about Bose. Can't be that bad?

Maybe they fig the exhaust sound should be sufficient.

Yes, I saw that ridiculous "...3 more db..." on the other site. But WTF does that mean?! That description is nonsense. Means absolutely nothing as a stand alone statement. db is a measure of sound pressure....a few % louder....thru crap speakers?! Not what I would call an enhancement...someone must know what specifically was changed.

Yeah I know what you mean. Just more power through bad speakers. I am going to change out my stock speakers as soon as I pick up in June. If it is bad as people claim. My old c4 had pretty good sound, as stock bose so I'll have to see.

Default 3db = twice the power

A 3db increase in power = double the power (whatever it was). So 3db increase is significant.

Sorry, but that's While it may take more power (typically measured in Watts from the amps) to attain a higher volume...there's no mathmatical correlation between power (Watts) and sound pressure levels (db). So again, assuming they increased the power of the amps, does anyone know what and by how much they changed?

Yup! The cool part is if they really did bump the power a decent amount....just changing spealers may be enough to make a nice improvement. I've heard good things about JBL, Eclipse....but I don't know first hand. Do you have some specific speakers in mind?

There is a mathematical relationship. It is dB = 10*log(P2/P1)

My guess is more efficient speakers, i.e., a 3 dB increase in sensitivity.

The current radio speaker stink!

What amazes me is that when will GM relaize people want good radios and nice interiors. the C6 would look 1000% better with $100 of leasther surrounding the radio than plastic.

1db is barely perceptable. 3db is just a little louder but it takes twice the power into the same (or equivalently efficient) speakers to acheive it.

True. I wouldn't argue about the quality of the speakers, but sound level is a logrithmic scale.

Excellant...that clears it up!Sorry, didn't mean to say there was none...just that I interpreted the 3db=double the power as a linear relationship...which, as you point out it is not...it's logrithmic. None of which answer the question asked!
