I was at my dealer earlier in the week and we put the order for my 2007 in to GM, on the computer as I sat there. So it seems they are accepting orders for 07's now.

Orders can be entered now but won't be accepted by GM until June 1st. Also, remember the dealer need to have an allocation before the order proceeds further.

I provided my order info to Rick Daniels a couple of days ago so he could get all his initial orders lined up for a 1 June acceptance date. I believe Les Stanford Chev has a relatively huge initial allocation, over 30 Corvettes. AFAIK, I'm # 5 on Rick's list with a projected courtesy delivery here in Las Vegas of mid-August. If I remember correctly, the first 100 or so cars off the line are held for a detailed production line QC process that lasts up to 2 weeks before they are released for shipment. The wait for my MN6/MR-ebony/3LT coupe begins!!!

I can sense his excitement already, can't imagine what he will be like on July 1.

I'd love to know how stories like this get started. A number of non-customer cars are built during the first week and become part of the Captured Test Fleet. These cars are driven by the various engineers during the plant shut-down. Starting the first Monday back, the cars are evaluated and if everything checks out, the customer cars are released, usually on Wednesday. Eventually, some of the Captured Test Fleet cars are offered to dealers for sale.
