no matter how i try to adjust the base stereo on my c6 it sounds lousy, i've been told it sounds tinny but i just know no matter what adjustments i make as far as base, treble etc it doesnt do any good. granted my hearing at my age isnt the best,(thanks to a lot of artillery shells too) so i probably wouldnt get the results even from the bose stereo but this one i have isnt much. everything else is top notch.
I had the same thoughts when I bought my C6 last December. The Bose stereo that came with the 3LT package just didn't sound as "full" and distortion-free as the great systems I had in my 1998 Buick Regal and 2003 Ford Expedition.
I read a post here that suggested setting the fader to emphasize the rear speakers (about 80-20) and that has helped a lot. Still not great, but not bad enough to annoy me most of the time.
I'd be interested hear other opinions or comparisons on the stereo quality. I wonder if the configuration of the Vette cockpit, with the relatively large amount of glass surface, has something to do with it.
Sorry guys. Stereo isnt too special and there is often a thread running discussing it like the one that is two lines down right now. Upgrade it, get bullets, take the ol lady with you so her talking drowns it out, or live with it. Pretty much your only options. At any rate its a good thing for chevy most of us are not buying for the stereo...
