Corvette flags

i remember this was answered somewhere, but can someone tell me again whey the fleur de lie is on the right of the corvette insignia??

Original design included an American flag, which a lawyer pointed out you can't use for a commercial product logo. They were on short time, somebody said "Chevrolet" is French. Ding, Fleur-de-lis.

The Motorama prototype Corvette (EX-122 which we have here at the showroom) had the American flag on it until the night before the show opened when it was replaced with the current logo.

Brothers Louis and Gaston Chevrolet, who started the company, were indeed of French descent.
