i have good news and bad news good news first I ordered black coupe and it came in today! Bad news i ordered it hard loaded they left out nav although it has everything else is the system that big of a deal as far as usage resale etc. would greatly like input on those who have nav and use it also is stereo system better with the nav system
From: Austin, Texas Codes 660, 9448, and 295660 work in the C6 navigation unit. No DVD playback yet.
I'm having trouble understanding your post, but if I read it correctly, and this question comes up a lot, then this is the only answer:
You pay far too much for this car not to get exactly the one you want. If I wanted navigation, I would not take a car that didn't have it, even if I had to wait another three months for another special order.
Do I think it will affect resale? Not significantly. However, options generally make a car easier to sell. I do think it adds significant usability to the car? I personally wouldn't have one without it.

Very well put. 100%.
While the NAV is not an everyday use item, it certainly comes in handy. Couple that with what ein Tier says about paying too much to not get exactly what you want, I agree. Definitely get it with the NAV.
And don't let them tell you that it can be added later.
I have the nav on both C6's and would not have a vette without it. Besides functionality it has a cool factor to the look it gives the interior!!.
Don't settle for less than you really want.

I ordered my car with the nav and it showed up without it. I got a major discount took the car and just got a pioneer Avic Z1. Way cool!!
just put in a Pioneer AVIC-D2 or other aftermarket NAV. My D2 has XM, Nav Traffic, and a hidden iPod interface. It also looks stock given its integration with the dash. You have options.
Personally, I would not take it any other way than the way I ordered it. Assuming it is GM's fault and not the dealer. I think GM should compensate you for your wait to get what you ordered, perhaps provide you with loaner vette at their expense until the one you orderd comes in. I know it's unrealsitic, but that's the way it should be. However, anything short of that, you should just wait and get exactly what you ordered.
I have it on my 2005 and 2006 and it will be on my 2007. Even though aftermarket Navs might have some better features, none of them can put the directions on the HUD the way GM unit can.
And yes, it can not be added after the car is built.
Your dealer should have given you the Order Detail sheet showing how the car was equipped. Shame on him for not ordering the car correctly and not giving you the sheet so you would have found it.
While the NAV system isn't something you use everyday, for that matter most options on a vette aren't used everyday i.e. heated seats, removable roof etc. But when you want to use it, it's a great option to have. I use it when ever I'm over in St Louis.
When I walked out of my dealer the day I ordered my car, he gave me two items, I detailed receipt showing all my options and deposit along with a computer generated document titled Vehicle Order Detail that again showed how my car was ordered along with my Vehicle Order Number. If he didn't provide that shame on them.

and also love my Nav system. Once you use one, it's hard to do without. I also have a couple portable systems which are nice to have but always wanted one built in.

I've read certain auto reviews that say the c6 interior is much more refined with the nav than without.
And it is a very cool option. I initially wasn't going to do it, but the Vette I test drove had it, and I knew after playing with it, I had to have. Absolutely cool. For 1337 GMID I'd say do it.

I even use it to go to places that I know where they're at. It will take me on quicker routes than I ever knew of.
That's a good point, 15 years living and working at Scott AFB I found a quicker (driving time) route after I mapped my office on the base and saw the three route options. I never would have guessed there was a "quicker" route.
