I can't help you with which unit to install, but if you've got OnStar or the nav unit, you already have a microphone installed. It's behind that grate on the upper left side of the windshield frame. Just don't ask me how you'd ever get hooked up to the lead wire.
I installed the motorola ihf1000. Can be seen here -----> http://www.motorola.com/automotive/solution_blnc.html This unit works pretty well. Voice recognition is excellent, first I ever used that pretty much works. People report my voice quality as being better than on the phone itself as long as there isnt too much background noise. With more background noise my voice quality diminishes. Still clear but is reported as sounding far away. This will occur when out on the freeway with the stereo or flogging it. No pairing problems. Im using the external speaker and it provides plenty of volume and is clear with a natural tone. List is 299 but street is around 200. The control unit is small and blends in pretty well because its silver. I mounted mine right over the airbag light on the center console. A couple people thought it was OEM. Overall I give it an 80% rating. Pluses are voice recognition that actually works, good form factor, easy installation. On the downside voice quality gets weak with increasing interior noise and I dont believe this would work well at all (I have corsa sports) with one of the louder aftermarket exhausts.
