Just got my new car last Thursday. Was doing some work on it today and noticed that the passenger side windshield wiper does not bend up at the joint. The driver's side wiper bends at its joint just fine. What could cause this? Time to take it to the dealer? Am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

It's made that way, so it won't hit the hood.
BTW, I don't like the way the wipers work on this car. They designed the passenger side to work better than the driver's side. In other words, the way the overlap is timed, the passenger side dumps water on the driver's side at a moment that requires a full wipe cycle of the driver's side before it is cleared, result, the passenger side is always clearer than the driver's side. That's nuts. They should have set them up the other way.
Never understood why GM designed the passenger's side wiper arm not to raise, supposedly to avoid hitting the hood, while the driver's side wiper arm can be raised and subsequently allowed to hit the hood. Poorly designed and a pain to clean/dry the windshield when washing the car.

You are not missing anything, that's just the way it is designed.
