Default Permanent jack pucks precludes towing?

I have been reading about the permanent BMW jack pucks (I got 4) and also where a tow truck attaches chains when putting on a rollback. It appears the frame holes are used for chain attachment.

Seems like a problem. I am upset that the owners manual for the C6 DOES NOT describe the proper way to tow a C6. My C4 explicitly showed how to tow the car w/o damage. I still am not sure how to do it. But I am afraid to install the permanent pucks.

Can anyone clear this up?

Many if not most flatbeds have wheel nets that they can attach there chains to. The nets are nylon straps that wrap around the wheels. This it what was used when I had my moms caddy towed. considering how low the Vette is I would not want them attaching anything to the underside of the car.

Remove them should towing with T hooks become necessary.

I figure the odds are that the car will be more likely to be lifted on a rack than towed so I snapped the rectangular pads into place.

However, in case I do need to be towed, I have the tools to remove them in my little tool kit that I keep in one of the vert trunk bins.

They can be popped right off with a screw driver so it's not a big problem...

Default Are the frame holes supposed to be used for towing?

Why doesn't GM put the proper procedure in the owner' manual?

Default BMW pucks size?

I got the ones that are 1 1/8 inches thick. The part number is identified in a thread on here you can find find by searching for BMW jacking pucks. I ordered them from Bravaian Motor Works for 5.95 each. They are rectangular in shape. If you can't find the part number searching let me know and I will get it from home. I have the info in my C6 file.

Is this what you are looking for cajunspeed? Don't mean to but in--just trying to be helpful. The thread is by ProfM. It specifies part #'s for the BMW pucks along with pics.

You'll probably SAVE your car from the tow truck guy by having the pucks installed!!
