Ok you vert owners. How many of you would trade your C6 Vert for a Dodge Viper, same year, same condition as a straight trade? Just a test to see how much we really love our Vettes. I know the Viper is more expensive, but play along anyway.
I would like all the people who answer "Viper" if they have ever spent much time driving them. I have. I have a good friend who has owned five Vipers (three of the current generation). I have driven them several times, including once when I drove one about 45 miles at one time.
The Viper looks like a good answer on paper, but in real world driving you may change your thinking. It rides very rough, you feel like you are in a cacoon (sp?), and it has very miminal "amenities". I personally would not want one even if it were cheaper than a Corvette.
I would make the trade and sell the Viper immediately ,buy another Vette and pocket the money. Even the sales mgr where I bought my 05 steered me away from from the Viper. They had two in stock and would have made more money. He told me I wouldn't be able to live with the Viper for very long.

I prefer the Vette. If you're over 6 feet tall, as I am, you won't fit in the car. Zero head room. The Viper also has the worst sounding exhaust note in automotive history. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner that's clogged up. It gets terrible gas mileage. The only positives : I think it looks and handles great and it is a torquemaster.

Thanks,

Trade for the Viper, then sell it. Buy another Vette, then w/pocketed extra $$ upgrade the Vette.
Buy a viper then go over to Viperforums.com and enjoy....
Such a silly question to ask in a Corvette Forum....if you are talking new viper..than your post should have said Viper or C6Z06 those are in the same category....
Straight up trade? I have my title in hand, ready and waiting. 2006 for 2006. This is not saying I dislike the Corvette, No brainer for a car that sells for $20,000 + more.
I drove a Viper a couple of months ago. Not what I expect it to be like. Veyr rough. Alot of HP but very few ammenities. IMO there is no other AMERICAN sports car besides the Vette.
Like if have always told about the Vette, "Often immitated never dulpicated."
I would not own a Viper. After all it is still a dodge.
Vipers, I think, are specialty cars. In the country, on straight uncrowded roads, it's hard to beat. In traffic, it's a handful. After you've been seen in it, what's left?
The only people that drive Vipers are people that beg for attention. It truly is an eye catcher but, IMHO it is one of the ugliest cars on the road, comparable to an oversized clown shoe.
