My 06 C6 came with the tinted roof only. I purchased a new hard top from a lady on the internet who did not want both roofs. It was shipped in the original GM box. Is GM going to honor the top recall since my VIN #/ window sticker does not show a hard top?
Most tops are fine, just hope yours is one of those.
If not, I'd just put that top on the car and bring it in and say nothing about it. Just act dumb if any question comes up and accuse GM of their mistake.
When I got my car it only had the one roof that was on it. I wanted both tops so they took one out of stock and added it for the opt price of dual tops. So I don't think they will even ask you about it as someone said just put it on and tell them to fix it.
Unfortunately, GM could cross-reference the VIN with the option list, and say that you have no warranty on a "used" part purchased from a private person. The NHTSA might take a dim view of that, however. I'd play dumb and try it.

Obviously you will not be receiving a recall notice from GM since the car was bulit with the transparent roof. However, the part warranty will still apply if you have a probem with the "purchased over the counter" roof. You may want to obtain the "original" purchase reciept for the roof.
