On a 2006 Coupe, can someone tell me why GM decided that you need the engine to be on, in order to program the DIC? Why do they not allow you go in and set the options while in Accessory mode? Or am I missing something here because if I put the car in Accessory mode, I cannot access the DIC options?
I'm not sure why they did it that way, but there's a workaround - just press the green circle without pushing in the clutch. Car comes on as if it was running, but engine doesn't start.
P.S. Don't try this when parked two feet in front of a Ferrari! It's always possible that something'll go wrong and it'll start up!
I assume that with an automatic you'd put it in drive and push the green circle - or can you get it out of park without doing so? Very limited experience on C6 autos.

Automatics need to have the brake pedal depressed for start.
