Does anybody know if they revised the software or mechanicals for the A6 transmission for the 2007 model ? I heard rumour of it on one of the forums but no confirmation.
I too have heard the rumors of somesort of change, but no specifics were mentioned. In addition, there was no change announced by GM, so I am assuming that there is no major change.
With all of the positive feedback to the system, I do not see why GM would change it and risk messing it up.
The story was posted that paddle shifts would be quicker. Whether that would come from simple reprogramming, or different mechanicals, or a combination; was not mentioned.
I'd sure like quicker paddle shifts, and bigger paddles. The system works fine on a road course where you keep your hands in the same place on the steering wheel, but it sucks for autocross: you need to feed the wheel through your hands and thus can't find the upshift paddle until the wheel is almost centered as you exit a turn. With the strong acceleration in 1st gear, and the lag in shift time, I find it almost impossible to come out of a tight 1st gear corner and perform an upshift before hitting the rev limiter.
