I noticed today that when I start my car up the rpm and speedometer needles jump all the way up then come back down.
I was wondering if this was normal because I haven't noticed it before so can someone please check if theirs does the same thing. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick responce guys, I wasn't sure because I had a Firebird before and it only shot up the needles when the battery was low because the system was using some kind of backup system to start the car. Good to hear its normal!!

Happens on many, perhaps all GM vehicles and also on my friend's 2005 Subaru Legacy. I thought it's kind of gimmicky.
